About me
So a bit about me I am a 20-year-old from the UK. I am currently an apprentice mechanical engineer.
I have a big passion for the gym. I have weight trained since I was about 15 years old and have used it to keep myself level headed and it’s given me a lot of discipline and how to motivate myself when I’m really not feeling it. This has been really useful in my life progression. So no matter how young you are I would suggest that you start investing in yourself before you invest into anything else. Besides going to the gym my other biggest passion has got to be football. I closely follow Liverpool football club, football has been a massive part of my life since I was a young child.
So a bit about my journey - I was always a clever kid growing up. I've always done well in school and I got the grades to back that, but I just was never sure what I wanted to do with my life. So it sort of came towards the end of school and I was just really unsure what to do, so at that point I just decided to take on A-levels and buy sometime. As A-levels progressed I was sort of being pushed more and more into making a decision about my future. One of my subjects which I took was engineering. I’d always been interested in engineering and just the role which engineering plays in our everyday world without us even noticing. Long story short I made the decision to pursue engineering. I had a choice between choosing to go to university or taking an apprenticeship and for me personally I believed taking an apprenticeship and getting paid while I was learning was the best thing for me. So I’ve been at my current job for nearly 2 years now and I am a second year mechanical engineering apprentice.
Why do I want to become financially free?
It’s a no brainier really, everyone wants to be successful - I just want to do my best in life, build generational wealth for my family and not let he lack of money control my life. Ever since I was young I’ve always sort of wanted to be my own boss. And I’ve never really known what I wanted to do with my life so I sort of just chose engineering as a good career path that I knew I’d enjoy but whether that’s ultimately want I want to do is yet to be decided. It is only recently where I’ve decided I want to generate multiple sources of income and try new things. The way I see it is that as long as I try a new way of making money I will not have the regret of not trying later on in my life.
So here are some of the reasons why I want to make this change and try and be financially independent. So firstly I I don’t want to confide with the social norm. I don’t want to be working 40 hours a week working 9-to-5 every day of the week and help some rich business owners live out their dream and then just have two days where I can do what I want on the weekend. We’re only here for a short amount of time so we’ve just got to make the most out of it. As I’ve mentioned previously being my own boss would be ideal as I’d like to be in charge of what I’m doing. Secondly I’ve always wanted to do my best in anything I do, so I mean I only get one life so I might as well do my best with it and try everything I possibly can in order to achieve the financial freedom that I want to obtain. Not only do I want to get financial freedom but I want to do myself and my family proud and if I can motivate and inspire people to take the risks themselves then that would be amazing.
